At the Intersolar trade fair held in Munich in May 2025, Ralf Hümer made the decision to transition from brokering Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to taking full responsibility for project development.

To achieve this, he found the ideal complementary partners in Christina Wittmann and Christian Knecht. This marked the beginning of ENCO. While Wittmann contributes outstanding expertise in BESS project development, Knecht brings many years of experience in marketing and information technology (IT).

The company's headquarters are located in Grünwald near Munich, close to its most important business partners.

ENCO's objective is to deliver high-quality BESS projects at highly competitive prices. This is achieved through the careful selection of partners and components, combined with a lean organizational structure that keeps administrative and operational overhead to an absolute minimum.

Ralf Hümer

Ralf Hümer is a businessman and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the financial services and sales industries. Following several years as an auditor for a major German financial institution, he spent more than 30 years in executive sales management, holding positions ranging from Sales Director and Managing Director to Executive Board Member, both as an employee and as an entrepreneur.

In 2025, together with Christina Wittmann and Christian Knecht, he co-founded ENCO – Energy Concept GmbH, focusing on the development of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

Ralf is responsible for the company's organization and financial management and serves as the primary contact for business partners and investors.

Christina Wittmann

Christina Wittmann holds a degree in Business Administration and has been a successful entrepreneur for many years.

She began her professional career in the financial services industry, where she first became involved with renewable energy projects, particularly photovoltaic systems.

In 2016, she founded her own EPC company (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), specializing in the planning and construction of commercial photovoltaic installations, initially focusing on rooftop systems with capacities exceeding 100 kWp.

As energy markets evolved and the demand for grid stability and economic efficiency increased, Christina recognized the growing importance of battery storage systems early on. This led her to expand her business activities to include battery storage solutions and the development of large-scale storage and grid-connected energy projects.

Today, she continues to focus on photovoltaic developments while integrating advanced battery storage solutions. Her projects emphasize maximizing self-consumption, utilizing electricity trading opportunities, and participating in ancillary service markets whenever technically and economically feasible.

Christian Knecht

Christian Knecht is an entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in information technology, sales, and project development.

After establishing his own IT business in 2001 and developing numerous digital platforms, he shifted his focus toward renewable energy.

In 2025, he founded Autarkie Makler, specializing in land acquisition for utility-scale photovoltaic projects and commercial rooftop installations. In the same year, together with his partners, he co-founded Energy Concept GmbH to develop large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

His primary focus is early-stage project development, including land identification, grid connection preparation, and the development of utility-scale battery storage and grid-related energy projects.

Within a single year, more than 726 MW of potential BESS capacity was successfully submitted for grid connection feasibility studies across Germany.

Today, Christian Knecht focuses on developing future-oriented energy storage concepts and integrating them into modern electricity trading models.
